INFORMATION

All athletes, non-athletes, and clubs must be registered in order to participate in any USA Boxing sponsored events.  The membership term follows the calendar year (Jan-Dec) and expires December 31 of that year, regardless of when an application is received by Metro.

New Athletes 

Renewing Athlete

Athletes who have not registered with USA Boxing before need the following (Any athletes 35 years or older should go to the Master Boxer page):
  • Completed Application
  • Two Passport Size photos
  • Original or notarized copy of your birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport 
  • $65 money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration  (Personal checks not accepted.)
If you ever registered with USA Boxing as an athlete you will need the following:

  • Completed Application
  • Athlete's Passbook*
  • $65 money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration(Personal checks not accepted.)

*There is an additional $50 lost book fee for any renewing athlete who does not include their expired passbook with the application.

Nonathletes

Clubs

Nonathletes who wish to register with USA Boxing need the following:
  • Completed Application
  • Non-Athlete Background Check Consent Form
  • $100 money order money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration  (Personal checks not accepted.)
Non-Athlete Screening Information:
If you wish to register with USA Boxing as a club member you will need the following:

  • Completed Application:

  • $250 money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration(Personal checks not accepted.)


You must have a club representative in order to have voice or vote with the Board of Governors, and the president and representative must be currently registered members of USA Boxing, Metro in order to register the club.

Birth Records

Request application

If were born in NY, and you need a copy of your birth certificate, go to the New York City Website to obtain a copy.

If you were born outside of the United States you must have proof of US citizenships, proof of New York residency, or a Green Card (Permanent Resident ID).

For Metro LBC residents ONLY (see home page for New York State Counties included in Metro):
For applications go to www.usaboxing.org. Click on the bar "Become a Member Today," and scroll down to athlete / non-athlete
membership form. Print out, complete the form, and make two additional copies.


Go to the USA Boxing, Inc. website to find your local LBC if you do not live in the Metro area.

Other Fees

Registration fees are as follows:

Athletes:              $65 money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration
Non-Athletes:
     $100 money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration
Clubs:    
              $250 money order + $3 online registration or $10 in-person paper registration

To request a sanction for a show, click on the Sanction Request Form link below.
  • "Sanctioned by USA Boxing, Metro" must appear on all fliers and other promotional documents.
  • Sanction fees are determined by the type of show. For non-Golden Gloves shows, the base fee is $350, fundraisers are $1,000 for boxing-related causes, $5,000 for non-boxing related causes.
  • Certificates of Liability are $30. There is a $15 charge for any changes made after a Certificate is issued.

    A service fee of $45.00 will be charged for the use of the gloves. 

    Sanction holders must now provide their own doctors for sanctioned competitions.  They will no longer be assigned by the Chief of Officials. Doctors must be registered by USA Boxing, Metro with background checks cleared prior to working a show. A doctor may NOT register at a show and work that same night.

  • Please be aware that boxers may have to wait at least one day for their passbooks to be issued.

    Boxers must be registered 7 days prior to competition.
