General Tournament Information
Athletes must compete in this tournament in order to qualify for advancement to the regional Junior Olympic Championships to be held at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid in May. Only the Intermediate and Senior divisions will qualify for advancement to regional and national championships. Boxers must have a minimum of five bouts prior to entering LBC tournaments that lead to regional or national championships. Bouts won on a walkover are not to be included in establishing the above requirement.
Coaches
Coaches must be registered and certified with USA Boxing and be able to show proof of registration and certification in order to work the corner of any boxer. Coaches are now required by USA Boxing Metro to obtain registration/certification ID cards. Parents seeking to work the corner of their child's bout must also meet this requirement. A list of qualified coaches will be supplied to every club hosting a show during this tournament and only two qualified coaches per boxer will be allowed to enter at the weigh-in free of charge. Coaches without a boxer scheduled or boxers not scheduled at each show may be allowed entry to show at the discretion of the host club or at a discount entry fee. Non-qualified boxers and coaches not currently registered or unable to produce credentials will be subject to full price entry at the discretion of host club.
Boxers
Boxers must compete within the weight class in which they entered the tournament. There will be no changes in weight once the tournament begins. Boxers must weigh in day of bouts and will have no weight allowance. Boxers who do not make weight on day of competition will be disqualified from tournament. There will be no exceptions!
